Welcome to Child Okeford

Child Okeford is a village in the county of Dorset, 3 miles east of the small town of Sturminster Newton and 6 miles north of Blandford Forum. The village lies downstream from Sturminster, along the River Stour, which passes half a mile west of the village.

To the east of the village lies Hambledon Hill, a Neolithic ceremonial burial site and an Iron Age hill fort. The latter has multiple ramparts enclosing 31 acres (13 hectares) and is rich in occupation remains. It occupies the entire northern spur of the hill above 140 metres (460 feet) and has been described as "one of the most impressive earthworks in southern England”.

The village benefits from amenities such as a general store with post office, an organic farm shop (Gold Hill Organic Farm), doctors surgery, two public houses (The Saxon and The Bakers Arms), a community village hall, sports ground, and very popular nursery and primary school for ages 1-11 years of age. The Village is also a brief walk away from the North Dorset Trailway

There is a vast range of property available in Child Okeford, varying from character, period property, to post war and more modern property. The property market in the village is steady, with a range of property available at most times.
