Welcome to Durweston

Durweston is a small village of 385 residents (Census 2011) that lies 2 miles North of Blandford heading out along the road to Sturminster Newton.

Although small in size, Durweston is home to two educational resources, the local village school, Durweston Primary School and a private school, Knighton House.

In 2003 a new Village Hall was erected in the village, which various events are held at throughout the year, and is also available to hire. The hall overlooks the village playing fields which are home to sports pitches, childrens play park and tennis court / basketball court.

The village also attracts local fishing groups. Durweston Mill is listed with the Wimborne & District Angling Club as a peaceful river fish for those of varying abilities.

Given the small size of the village properties for sale and to let are often few and far between. The village has a fairly typical mix of older properties, (many were originally estate cottages belonging to the Portman estate) with modern infill developments. The ex-local authority houses at Haycombe are normally popular due to the spacious room sizes and good-sized gardens. There are no estate agents with offices in Durweston, most people tend to use agents from Blandford to market their properties.

If you are looking for an estate agent in Durweston please do get in touch.
