Welcome to Milton Abbas

Milton Abbas is a beautiful village located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Dorset and renowned locally for the picturesque ‘chocolate-box’ cottages with their cob walls and thatched roofs that line ‘The Street’ and have done so since the 1770’s. The village is located approximately 6 miles south west of Blandford Forum and approximately 10 miles north east of Dorchester.

Residents of Milton Abbas are blessed with many tranquil footpath walks through the stunning surrounding woodlands and the village is on route of the 90 mile Jubilee Trail which runs from Forde Abbey on the Somerset border to Bokerley Dyke on the Hampshire border.

There is a well respected private school (Milton Abbey School) a stone’s throw away from the heart of the village, providing education for both day and boarding pupils aged 13 to 18, and The Milton Abbey Estate also provides home to a beautiful 9 hole golf course designed by Peter Alliss.

Milton Abbas also provides a GP Surgery (winner of The People’s Choice: Surgery of the Year at The General Practice Awards in 2019), a village shop / post office, a café, an award winning farm shop, and a Public House.

Despite the villages' size there is often a good supply of properties available for sale at any one time, the High Street with its previously mentioned thatched cottages are normally highly sought after! Rental properties in the village are harder to find.
