Welcome to Shapwick

Shapwick is a small village situated approx 5 miles South-East of Blandford Forum, with the town of Wimborne approx 5 miles to the East. The nearby villages of Sturminster Marshall and Spetisbury are the closest accessible by car by following the road from 'The Cross' either East or West.

The village is a small settlement with approx 200 residents. The village is largely built up around ‘The Cross’ and the High Street (which runs from the Cross to the New Road, which then meets the B3082 road near Badbury Rings.

The village has a popular pub, The Anchor Inn, which was bought by a village co-operative as a means to save the village from losing its focal point that sadly many other villages have suffered from.

The village church, St Bartholomew’s dates back to the 13th century, the village school now long gone is now a successful childrens nursery.

Looking towards the property market in the village, the majority of the housing is older, with a smattering of ex-local authority housing and some modern infill. Given the size of the village, available property both for sale and to let is few and far between.
