Welcome to Stourpaine

Stourpaine is a modest size village situated approximately 2 & ½ miles North West of Blandford Forum. The village straddles the A350 which appears to have structured the villages growth with the houses to the western side of the road generally being older housing stock with the majority of the housing on the eastern side being post-war housing.

According to the 2011 census the parish was made up of 277 dwellings with a population of 617.

The village is home to The White Horse Inn, which in recent years has incorporated a village shop with part-time post office facilities too.

The village offers some great walks with the Dorset Trailway cutting through the village, offering walks in one direction to Sturminster Newton and Blandford (as far as Spetisbury beyond). Nearby overlooking the village is Hod Hill, the remains of an Iron Age hill fort.

The village is fortunate enough to have a recreation ground with a modern village hall and home to the Stourpaine Tennis Club.
