Sturminster Marshall is a large village (with a population of around 2000 people) situated in East Dorset area of the county. The village is nicely situated with easy access to the neighbouring towns of Blandford (approx 7 miles NW via the A350), Wimborne via the A354 (approx 5m East), and the larger towns of Poole (via the A350 approx 8m SE) and Dorchester (via the A354 approx 19m W). As the crow flies the nearest neighbouring villages are Spetisbury, Shapwick and Corfe Mullen.

Given the size of the village, the village is lucky to have two pubs (Golden Fox & The Red Lion), aswell as two convenience shops (Co-op & Nisa), the village is also home to a number of businesses (many based on the Bailie Gate Industrial Estate), has its own 9 hole golf course & has a highly thought of first school. 

Towards the centre of the village is the village hall and village green (or recreation ground) home to a number of sports teams.

Architecture in the village is a mix of old and modern with many picture postcard cottages aswell as plenty of modern development. The ex-local authority houses in Churchill Close situated around the village green are popular with the majority having very generous garden sizes.

Properties for sale in Sturminster Marshall are relatively plentiful with a reasonable mix of modern and older housing available in the village at any one time.

Rental properties, like the majority of the area we cover are less plentiful but there are a reasonable number of rented properties in the village.
