Welcome to Tarrant Keyneston

Tarrant Keyneston is a small village forming part of a group of eight villages (and hamlets) know collectively as the Tarrant Valley, Tarrant Keyneston is the largest of the villages in the Tarrant Valley. The villages take their name from the small 7.5 mile long River Tarrant which is a tributary of the River Stour.

According to the 2011 census the village is made up of 152 dwellings and had a population of 310.

Despite its diminutive stature, the village boasts a number of facilities for locals, including a fine village pub (The True Lovers Knot) with good sized beer garden the pub also has a small number of letting rooms and a small but perfectly formed camping/caravan area to the rear of the pub.

On the outskirts of the village is the popular Ashley Wood Golf Club, an 18 hole golf course with beautiful views over the village and surrounding landscape. The village hall provides space for several community clubs including an indoors bowls team, to the rear of the village hall is a playing field and children's park. Situated on the western fringe of the village is Keyneston Mill, a Botanic garden and 50-Acre private working estate, a public footpath from the mill affords walks around the water meadows towards Spetisbury.

Part of the village straddles the B3082 road which links Blandford Forum to Wimborne.

The property market in Tarrant Keyneston, due to the size of the village properties for sale and to let are in short supply. The majority of the properties in the village are period properties, from pretty thatched cottages to larger homes, interspersed with modern dwellings. On the outskirts of the village is Ashley Wood Park, a small Park Home development, offering a more affordable housing option for over 50's.

Given the size of the village, there is not a huge volume of property on the market at any one time, in particular, there appears to be a real lack of available rental properties in the village.
